Not looking at the camera, like always

Then we went downtown, and got alot of candy from the people who had shops.
They also had contests, etc. and a little train the kids could ride on. Emma had a good time. She started getting tired, and on the way home decided she was finished with Trick or Treating. She only made it to about 6 houses prior to the downtown thing.

Voting

I dont know about you but I am so excited for this election to be OVER!!!!!
http://www.kissmygumbo.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/vote.jpg
I am so tired of all the ads everywhere, every talk show it talking about voting, etc. which I think is a wonderful thing, but I'm at the point where I dread turning on the television becuase its all I hear.
Please people, go out and vote, give them what you want... I am so counting down til Nov. 4th! Less than a week!! woohoo!

I guess you can say ONE good thing that have came from all of this is I FINALLY saw gas that was less than two dollars. Yup. here in this small town of a few thousand was a gas station who pumped 1.99 a gal. !! WOW!
http://www.businessweek.com/autos/autobeat/archives/red_gas_pump.jpg
But we all know, after elections the gas will go RIGHT back up. Make sure you fill your tank, I will be tomorrow and ENJOY the cheap gas :)

Funny, I remember crying about it being 2 dollars just 5 years ago while in highschool.

I forgot to mention...

I am helping out teaching for bible school on Wednesday Nights. I went this week, and I think I am happy to do it. At first I was alittle scared (the kids are 3-4yr olds... not really my thing)

But I think it will be good for me to go out and do something like this. I really love going to church but haven't been going as much. This gives Emma an opportunity to meet other kids as well, and of course to learn about God :)

I am very happy for that reason, and really happy to help at all. I was alittle concerned becuase I think they really don't need my help, becuase there are only like 10 kids tops, and already a teacher, and a highschool assistant, so I was alittle confused to why I was there. I plan on talking with the lady who is in charge and ask her if she wouldn't mind me teaching another class... with older kids, by myself. I think I would be more pleased with the situation if I was by myself, and with my own class of kids who actually LISTEN. Little kids Emma's age are like impossible to get to sit together and listen (All at the same time for more than 3 minutes) lol

We will see.

Today!

We are going to have chili for dinner, along with the mummy dogs, and homemade french fries (maybe) We will see about the fries. Anyways- I was wanting to make some homemade bread to go along with the homemade chili my mom made.

here is a recipe I am thinking about trying:

http://www.recipetips.com/kitchen/images/refimages/bread/types/bread_oatmeal_crumb_500.jpg

Oatmeal Honey Bread
Oatmeal gives flavor, texture, and nutrition to this yeast bread, while honey adds natural sweetness. Unlike most yeast bread, this one only requires one rising.

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup very warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, divided use
  • 3/4 cup oat bran cereal, processed to flour in a food processor

Preparation:

Place oatmeal, butter, honey, and salt in a large bowl. Cover with boiling water and stir well to combine. Let cool until warm.

Sprinkle yeast over very warm water in a 2-cup glass measuring cup. Add sugar and stir. Let stand 10 minutes until bubbly.

Spray a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with vegetable oil.

Add yeast mixture, egg, 1-1/2 cups of the flour, and oat bran cereal flour to the oatmeal mixture. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes, while gradually adding the remaining 1/2 cup of flour.

Scrape dough into the prepared loaf pan. Spray top with vegetable oil, cover with waxed paper, then with a tea towel. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 F. Bake for about 1 hour. It should sound hollow when you tap it. Cool the oatmeal bread on a rack before slicing to serve.

I really love Oatmeal bread. I think it will be nice to have some fresh bread for once. I love the way bread smells as its cooking :) Its great! <3>

but I forgot to refill my soap this morning. Emma has her own, and I have mine. She has been using this Kandoo brand for like a yr now. Its a foam soap. Anyways, I forgot to refill it after using it all, and I just used Emma's kandoo brand. OMG I love it. My hands are soooo soft, and smell AMAZING!

I seriously want to start just using it only

Cloth Shopping Bags

Ok so this is an AMAZING idea. Having bags that you can reuse.

The Problem is, I never see any bags that are large enough for all the crazy shopping I do. There are TONS of the little ones, but I am a serious shopper and need something that I can carry a house, and maybe a few shoes in.

here is one that i think is pretty large:
http://images-cdn01.associatedcontent.com/image/A1977/197795/300_197795.jpg
The thing I hate is, Why the hell do these bag makers have to make them so ugly? cant they make them with a pretty print on them?? and not some stupid logo?

Ive looked around for LARGE bags, that are THIN... and have pretty designs on them.
Also, it would help if they were insulated with foil, or whatever that stuff is you can buy and put inside bags to keep food cold/hot.

man, maybe I should start making them and get rich off of them?

:)

Daylight Donuts

Ok, so some of you have them, SURPRISINGLY we have one in our SMALL town.
http://www.funlakelife.com/business/images/DaylightLogo.jpg

Every few weeks, I go in, let Emma pick out whatever donuts she wants (we usually get a dozen to share with the rest of the fam) Most of them consist of sprinkled donuts becuase thats what me and Emma LOVE! My mom used to have a doughnut shop way back when, and my grandmother bought it from her, so we aren't too crazy about donuts, me mainly, becuase I kind of got sick of them throughout the years. Anyways, I love Daylight Donuts.
http://www.lilorbits.com/donuts/images/sprinkled%20donuts.jpg
Today me and Emma went in, she picked out a bunch, and I got a few long johns becuase my brother andrew LOVES long johns, and all the jelly filled, cakey doughnuts.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Its neat becuase you can pick whatever donut you want, and theyll fill it with whatever youd like. I got like 3 chocolate long johns with pudding inside, and a plain glaze one with rasberry filling in it for andrew...

And then we got a combo of other ones.

Anyways- I tried one of the long johns (very strange becuase I am STRICTLY a Sprinkled kind of girl- I never get anything different from that) and it was AMAZING. it was like HEAVEN. I can't believe I liked it!

What the heck!?
White Cream Long John
I usually don't like donuts much at all!

Maybe Im pregnant

Just kidding!

Knitting with the Knifty Knitter

http://www.yarns-and.com/KniftySet.jpg
ok, so I had this set years ago, but It didnt workout too well, so I put it away, and its buried currently in all my house boxes...

so I bought another set the other day.

I'm not too happy about it becuase eventually my knit gets too tight and its absolutely unbelievably hard to get the yarn over the hook without it snapping.

UGHH it suckssss

I'm not going to give up get however. Hopefully I get the hang of it.

Emma's Tea Party

Ok, so Emma had her "Tea Party" thing today at the library.
It was called a "Fancy Nancy Tea Party" We got there, they read three books, (one of them being Fancy Nancy of course ) And then they gave a small cookie, and they all made a crown.

It was alot of fun for Emma, she actually had an amazing time! They do alot of stuff in our town for kids, so we always try and make it to everything they hold at the library.

Anyways- before we leave, Emma turns to the lady who was in charge, put her hands on her hips, and said "THIS WAS NOT A TEA PARTY!"
which, it really wasn't, but omg I could have died. I was so embarrassed. I didn't know what to say, the other parents giggled becuase we were all kinda wondering if maybe next week was the tea party, and the lady in charge was like "You were the only one who noticed, I hoped no one would have" and just started laughing hysterically.

We all kind of laughed, but I still felt bad, I mean, Im sure she knew how much fun Emma had, becuase she participated in the dancing, and everything, and was on her best behavior, and when we left, she said thank you, and hugged her... but omg I hate moments like that when your kid points something out and you just stop dead in your tracks and are like

I wanted to be like, EMMA! but instead I was like, "We didnt have tea, but we had ALOT of fun Emma, didn't we?!" Anyways- here are some pics.

Waiting for Mommy to get everything so we could leave

Not wanting to take any pics.

Playing with the Library toys, waiting for the Tea Party to start

If only she would look at the camera!

Making her Princess Crown

Finished product

Then, the moment we got home she tore off her tights (she HATED wearing them) and put on her dress, so I snapped a few extra

But of course, she didn't look....

So I took a much needed updated photo of myself.

Thanks for looking!
