I have this obsession with two people. Marilyn Monroe, and Marie Antoinette. I checked out this HUGE Marie Antoinette book, Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraiser, and I have to say I love it. I have learned SOOO much that I didn't know before!!
One of my favorite movies of all time, Marie Antoinette, by Sophia Coppola just nicks the surface of her story. I love the movie, and probably watch it once a month, and anytime I see it on HBO. The movie has suburb costume design, and makes you feel so "in it".
I just started this book, but recently another book I have been waiting to be available, I believe it is a biography, just came in my library, and is waiting for me to pick it up. The book I am reading right now is a third person perspective. It give facts, tells alot about the family, but not from Marie's point of view, a view we will never get.
I love historical things, places, stories, movies and just can't get enough! When I enroll for college it will be elementary ed, and I want to have a history degree as well. It is just something that has always fascinated me. I love reading about the way people lived, whether it was hundreds of years ago, or even a few decades back. Our history is full of religion, politics, massacre, love, and passion. I love the fact that I can soak myself into all of it in a matter of a couple minutes, even hours, and almost feel as if I am going back into the past, without having to relive it.
One of my dreams is to go to Europe. The country I want to see most is France. There I want to visit Paris and then checkout the palace, Versailles. I want to see all of Europe, but will settle for just seeing : France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece and England. I don't care much for Sweden, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Albania, Denmark, etc. but it would be so amazing to be able to see it all, but very unlikely in a lifetime. lol
France is the top pick. I love their history, and love their culture.
Here is a few places that I have to see when I go to France:
and its beautiful gardens, that Marie Antoinette herself is accountable for. She is the person who made Versailles as beautiful as it is.
Marie's Antoinette's "mock farm"
Paris, Eiffel Tower
Arc de Triomphe
Notre Dame
Opera Garnier
My dream is go to France. like I already said, I love their culture, and I love their history.
Hopefully some day I can go. I would love to go within the next 5 years!
I've actually been taking french online. I know some, but before I make the trip I want to learn enough to actually communicate. When I go, I want to sight see, go to the best restaurants, clubs, and I REALLY want to see an Opera!
