Homemade Detergent

we made some homemade detergent!

A month we spend
$25 dollars on detergent
$15 dollars on softner

And to cut down on the spending we are making homemade detergent using
$3.50 Borax
$2.50 Washing Soda (not baking soda) found in aisle
$1.00 Felsnaptha bars (youll need like 6) ... if you cant find it you can use any soap
$2.00 Gallon of White Vinegar (substitute for softner- IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR CLOTHES STINK!)
_____
total $14-21 a year!

Also essential oils can be used for scents, but the Felsnaptha is pretty scented!
If you want to make your own dryer sheets you can an old wipes container, fill it with hair conditioner and water, soak a sponge inside it, when you need to use it, ring it out (into the wipe container) and throw it in the dryer with your clothes. Then, store back inside the wipes container.

Powdered Laundry Detergent - Recipe

2 cups Fels Naptha Soap (finely grated - you could also try the other bar soaps listed at the top)
1 cup Washing Soda
1 cup Borax

* Mix well and store in an airtight plastic container.
* Use 2 tablespoons per full load.

Ingredients

Grind up the Felsnaptha soap

Mix in Borax

Mix in washing soda

Put all of it in a food processor

Mix together (we store ours in a jar)

Remember, only 2 tablespoons a load!

Hope you enjoy this CHEAP and EASY recipe!
