Surgery.

Emma had surgery today. :(

It was dental work.. she had some teeth pulled, and some caps on her teeth. She went to Children's Mercy Hospital. They were very good to her there. Her dentist is a pediatric dentist. He is phenomenal. He did an amazing job on her teeth.

She had four teeth pulled, so the tooth fairy is coming tonight to our house for the first time!!

She picked banana for the scent of her sleeping gas. I waited in the waiting room for what seemed like eternity. It was only an hour and a half, then I talked with the dr and waited another 40 minutes. Finally I got to see my baby! I got on an elevator, and turned a hall to see my precious baby being wheeled on a bed out of the OR. My heart dropped. I wanted to run over to her, bawl- but I couldn't. I had to be strong for her.

I walked up to her and the nurse told me the first thing she said was that she wanted me. It felt so good because I wanted her too. We went to the recovery room and I finally got to hold my precious baby. I rocked her in a rocking chair for about 30 minutes. I comforted her becuase she was in pain. I wish I could have endured all the pain she was feeling. They gave her some meds, and removed her iv. I finally got to dress her and we got to my car and drove home.

I never felt like I could loose Emma until today. I was scared about anesthesia. I know the risk is minimal, but there is still that risk of something to go wrong.  I am so relieved. Praise God she is okay!!

Tonight we got home, I made her jello, pudding and mashed potatoes. She was a hungry girl tonight.

She just finished a banana, and is finally ready to get some sleep. Poor girl didn't eat anything since lastnight.

I am at a real thankful place right now. I am overwhelmed by all the emails, txts, messages, and phone calls I received today. It really made my day better. It might not sound like a "big surgery" but anytime a child gets put down it can be scary, and the pain was pretty intense for her.

I'm glad this exhausting day is about to end, and happy to start a new one tomorrow.

Emma is laying next to me, and so is Belle. Nothing can make my night any better than to be in bed us three.
